Artistic Statement

My work explores families as conduits of the culture of the times, and the patriarchal nature of ours, with its inherent inequities and abuses of power. I want the audience to feel supported and mirrored in their own complex struggles with "the ties that bind", and their questions around breaking them. While hoping to evoke a wide range of emotion (and maybe a little sardonic laughter) I aim to force a deeper interrogation of one’s personal beliefs, and their impact on both those around them, and the greater society.
