A fantastic and thrilling piece for three women. Each character is nuanced and well developed--any role is a to die for part for any actress worth her salt. Sarah is absolutely fascinating--and that monologue at the end, holy cow, talk about a fantastic audition piece. A great, compelling, edge-of-your-seat piece of theatre that is definitely going places.

I directed a reading of this play for Salt Lake Acting Company's New Play Sounding Series. It was a joy to work with Rachel on this fast-paced, multi-faceted, smart, and funny piece that tackles environmental issues, the tech industry, and the complexity of women in positions of power. It's a play that asks you to grapple with your own definitions of feminism and morality. It made our audience laugh and gasp, and it sparked a super engaging post-play discussion. Fast, one-scene play with three terrific roles for women.

Burst is relentless in the best possible way. The characters and dialogue grab you from the first minute, and it's clear from the start that it's heading to a moment that will bring together the moral and emotional issues of the play. When it happens and we get a full understanding of the "tactics" these characters employ, we're left with the gut-punch of not only a character's guilt, but our own complicity. Clear, compelling, important, and thoroughly engaging.

I had the privilege of seeing a staged reading of BURST this past weekend with the R.E.A.C.H. program at the Utah Shakespeare festival and it was absolutely captivating. Bublitz has crafted three complex female roles that are constantly showing new, unexpected facets as the play unfolds. This three hander touches on some heavy current issues, but never loses sight of the human hearts and relationships that are the core of the drama.

First of all, the premise of this play is absolutely fascinating. Rooted in a true, ongoing story, Bublitz looks at the thin line between the intense pursuit of a dream and megalomania. When corporate titans succeed, we forgive them all of their sins. But what do they have to do to get there? Do we forgive them if they don't succeed? Do we have different standards for women and men? Three excellent women characters make up this gripping, fast paced, drama.

This play is a unique look at women in power and what happens when just having a dream to do good is no longer enough. Bublitz has crafted 3 complex characters with sharp dialogue that actors will have a blast with. It's a tight one scene play that takes audiences on a journey full of twists and turns that will leave them in a place of uncertainty about these women and their own beliefs.
