This play is an outstanding example of comedy done right. With multiple plot layers all happening simultaneously, you could miss half of what's going on and still get a whole story. There's something for everyone here. The broad strokes and raucous moments of the script belie the subtle complexity of all that is happening right in front of you.
If laughter is the best medicine, then 10/10 Doctors Recommend Muffed.
And as someone who produced "Muffed", I can safely say audiences agree.

Hilarious. What a fun romp! Every scene is a riot and it all comes together for a terrific piece. Bravo!

This is my favorite Peercy play, by a mile. It's deeply funny, surprisingly sentimental, and fantastically ridiculous. If "It's a Wonderful Life" was about McDonald's breakfast items and not suicide, you get this play. An instant classic, in my opinion, to anyone who has ever felt the weight of legacy or the love of small town America. But not in the "Try that in a small town" way. I give it Five Big Booms.

A 100% true story made with at least 50% fake information. Zack (and The Meaningful Action Theatre Company) have stitched together a play that is a celebration of not only Chester Greenwood Day, but of community, small towns, and theater itself! Leaves you with a warm feeling inside, like a hash brown tucked into a breakfast sandwich. Reminds you that if you love something, you work for it. You fight for it. You should be paid for it.

Also every character is great, but Brett Crum is best boy.

A gonzo comedic riff on documentary theatre, with a genuine message at its core about finding purpose in small things that may not ultimately matter – be it theatre or earmuffs. Balancing two portraits of communities making something from nothing, Peercy's script is a feast for any ensemble of actors, with jokes that come so fast you won't realize how deep they cut until a page later.

"MUFFED..." utterly brims with charm and wholesomeness. A heartfelt snapshot of a quirky small town community, sprinkled generously on top with sharp meta commentary that any storefront theater company member will appreciate. This play has all the essence of a hearty belly laugh followed by a warm hug. Comes with the highest of recommendations.

“Muffed” is “Northern Exposure” meets “Waiting For Guffman” (with a touch of “Schitt’s Creek”) Whip-smart but with a heart of gold, this play is a delight. And smorgasbord of material for comic actors! Highly recommended

An inventive, hilarious portrait of a small town theater company battling the most eccentric of forces as they interview community residents and attempt to devise a piece celebrating the local (and real!) small town hero Chester Greenwood, inventor of the earmuff--- "an innovation just in the periphery of what's important, that takes someone truly special to show us how necessary it was." MUFFED is an affectionate send-up of the obsessions that drive individuals and bind together communities.

Well this play is delightful and thoughtful in the best ways possible. A little mystery, a little supernatural, a lot of small town politics and characters, and a pragmatic indictment of theatre company's and the stipends they pay, "Muffed..." is a masterful work. Peercy plays with tropes and cliches in a genuine way that lends an authenticity to the storytelling. The weaving of narratives is superb. I think any company would have the best time putting this show up and it really deserves it.
