Akiylah resists the family church, placing her at odds with both her sister Autumn and their grandmother Patricia, who took them in after a car accident claimed the lives of their parents. However, the sisters are united against a common enemy: racial and sexual harassment by the police. They attend a #BlackLivesMatter demonstration and find themselves getting into big trouble, forcing Patricia to unveil a dark secret from her own revolutionary past.
